Safety & quality
Everyone home safe. Every pour to spec.
Safety and quality are planned into our work the same way concrete is: carefully, in advance and with no shortcuts.
Safety
A safety culture, not a safety binder.
Our safety program is designed to meet the requirements of public owners, general contractors and Cal/OSHA — and, more importantly, to send every worker home the way they arrived.
- 01
Written programs
A Cal/OSHA-compliant Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), heat-illness prevention, silica exposure control and site-specific safety plans.
- 02
Daily planning
Job-hazard analyses and tailgate meetings before work starts — every crew, every day.
- 03
Training
Ongoing training in fall protection, excavation, rebar impalement protection, pump and truck safety, and equipment operation.
- 04
Stop-work authority
Every person on a Cal-Crete site has the authority — and the expectation — to stop unsafe work.
Quality control
Checked before concrete arrives.
Concrete does not offer second chances. Our quality-control process catches issues when they are cheap to fix — before placement.
- Submittal & mix-design review before mobilization
- Layout verified from project control, not from forms
- Pre-pour checklist: reinforcing, embeds, sleeves, elevations
- Special-inspection & testing coordination
- Placement, finishing and curing per specification
- Pour logs, photos and as-built documentation

Environmental
Responsible on every site.
Stormwater
SWPPP implementation, inlet protection and concrete washout containment on every site.
Dust & noise
Dust control, saw-cutting with water, and work hours that respect neighbors.
Clean sites
Organized material staging and daily clean-up — a safer site is a cleaner site.
